On November 7, six Norwegian high-tech enterprises and a high-end ship building industry cluster, led by the Innovation Norway, visited Jiangsu Province, conducted green technology and marine equipment project matchmaking activities with Jiangsu enterprises and visited relevant enterprises in Nanjing, Jiangyin and Zhenjiang. The event was hosted by Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Provincial Government, Innovation Norway, and undertaken by Jiangsu Center of International Technology Transfer and Nanjing Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection Industry Association. More than 140 guests from the Embassy of the kingdom of Norway in China, Innovation Norway, Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Provincial Government, scientific research institutes of Jiangsu Province and enterprises in related fields, attended.

Duan Xiong, deputy director general of Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Provincial Government, pointed out in his speech that Norway is an important innovation partner of Jiangsu Province. In recent two years, the scientific and technological cooperation between Jiangsu and Norway has not only made substantial progress, but also maintained a good momentum of rapid development. Especially in April this year, the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Provincial Government and Innovation Norway officially signed the Memorandum of Understanding on Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation and agreed to set up the "Jiangsu Norway Industrial R & D Cooperation Program", also launched the first round of cooperation collecting activities thus laying the foundation for promoting practical and efficient science and technology innovation cooperation between the two sides. The deputy director general Duan Xiong called on participating enterprises to actively take advantage of the precious opportunity of one-on-one matchmaking and carry out extensive and fruitful scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation aiming at striving to create a unique business card for innovation cooperation between Jiangsu and Norway.

Rolf Almkov, commercial counsellor of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in China, said that Norway bounds strong innovation strength and rich innovative talents, and always been in the leading position in the world especially in the field of marine equipment and environmental protection industry. Also in the field of sustainable development of ship transportation and marine energy supply, Norway is able to provide advanced and applicable solutions. He also hopes to take this opportunity to build an exchange platform for enterprises of both sides and strengthen cooperation.

This event organized more than 70 enterprise representatives in the province to conduct more than 60 one-on-one matchmaking talks with Blom Maritime, Servogear, Olvondo Technology, Antech Biogas, Altered Power, Biowater and NCE Maritime Clean Tech industrial clusters in Norway. Among them, Jiangsu Huatong Marine Engineering Equipment Co., Ltd., Nanjing Qizhi PuJiao Technology Development Co., Ltd. and Blom Maritime Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Wisdom Engineering Technology Co., Ltd. and Olvondo Technology Co., Ltd., Zhenjiang Tongzhou propeller Co., Ltd. and Servogear Co., Ltd., Jianyiwuni technology (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., Nanjing Linyi kitchen Technology Co., Ltd. and Antech Biogas have reached the initial cooperation intention. The center will continue to follow up the matchmaking activity results and provide support for promoting cooperation between enterprises of both sides.

On that activity day, the notice of the second round of cooperation project collection of "Jiangsu- Norway Industrial R & D Cooperation Program" was released and enterprises from Jiangsu and Norway are welcomed to actively participate in the program.
