With the support of the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Provincial Government, cosponsored by the Jiangsu Center of International Technology Transfer, Nanjing Municipal Science and Technology Bureau and KOTRA, the "2019 Project Matchmaking Conference with Korea Gimhae Enterprise Delegation" was successfully held in Nanjing on May 22.

Li Xuqin, the consultant of the International Cooperation Division of Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Provincial Government, and Zhao Xianming, deputy mayor of Gimhae of Korea attended the conference and made speeches. The delegation of 7 Korean enterprises from the fields of auto parts, medical supplies, mechanical parts to participate was organized in the event. Nearly 80 representatives from more than 50 enterprises from City Nanjing, Wuxi, Yancheng, Zhenjiang and other cities in our province participated in the matchmaking activity.

In his speech, Li Xuqin, consultant of the International Cooperation Division of Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Provincial Government, briefly reviewed the Memorandum of Understanding on Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation officially signed by Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Provincial Government and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency last September in Nanjing, which settled a better foundation and created preferable conditions for promoting extensive and efficient science and technology innovation cooperation between the two sides. Li Xuqin pointed out that Gimhae and Wuxi City of our province formally forged a friendship city relationship in 2005. Both sides bound a large number of technical products, resource elements and development opportunities to share with each other so as to enhance cooperation and exchange aiming at mutual development and win-win future. At present the cooperation between Jiangsu and South Korea has entered a more diversified and richer stage of innovation cooperation and exchange. It is hoped that through this matchmaking conference, all parts of our province and Gimhae will give full play to their respective industrial and technological characteristics, complement advantages of each other and actively carry out extensive and fruitful exchanges and cooperation in science and technology, economy and trade.

In his speech, Zhao Xianming, deputy mayor of Gimhae of South Korea, introduced that the city has 7500 manufacturing enterprises, which are the center of the industrial belt along the southeast coast of Korea. Jiangsu has been manufacturing base and technological innovation center in China. Based on the similarity of the industry structure and prior policies of enterprises, he hoped that enterprises of both sides could share excellent technology projects on this important platform thus further strengthening the cooperation in the technology research and development, market expanding and industrialization so as to establish the win-win relationship.

In the one-on-one discussion, Jiangsu and Gimhae enterprise representatives conducted a positive exchange with each other. 57 pairs of technical projects have been arranged on site, of which 41 pairs matched and cooperated successfully and 16 Chinese institutions have reached the initial intent of cooperation intention with side Korea. Among them, Suzhou Ouximu Mould Co., Ltd and Korea Sammyung Precision Co., Ltd. signed a memorandum of cooperation on the spot to reach cooperation intention and both sides will carry out comprehensive cooperation in technical cooperation and other aspects. Korea Young Chemical Co., Ltd. made a business trip to Yangzhou Kairuite Medical Products Co., Ltd. for on-the-spot investigation after the matchmaking conference and both sides further conducted in-depth discussion on specific products and technical projects. The participating enterprises of both sides agreed that the arrangement of the matchmaking conference was efficient and pragmatic, and obtained terrific effects for cooperation. In the following days Jiangsu Center of International Technology Transfer will continue to follow up, to create conditions for the institutions and enterprises that intends to make cooperation aiming at promoting the implementation of the project.

On May 23, the delegation of Gimhae enterprises went to Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone for field visits, and listened to the detailed introduction of the urban planning and construction of Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone as well as the development situation of four leading industries, including photoelectric display, high-end equipment, bio medicine and modern service industry. The delegation also visited Nanjing TICA and Nanjing LG Chem on the spot, and had in-depth discussion with their technical staff.
