CITTC 2018 was Successfully Convened

From Nov. 8th to 10th, Sponsored by Ministry of Science and Technology of China (MOST) and Jiangsu Provincial Government, the 6th China Jiangsu Conference for International Technology Transfer and Commercialization (CITTC) was successfully convened in Nanjing. Mr. Fei Gaoyun, vice-governor of Jiangsu Provincial Government, and Mr. Cai Jianing, deputy director-general of Department of International Cooperation, MOST attended the conference and delivered keynote speeches.

Mr. Fei Gaoyun emphasized Jiangsu provincial committee and Jiangsu provincial government pay high attention to science and technology innovation, and have achieved remarkable results by adhering to the core position of scientific and technological innovation, deepening the implementation of innovation-driven development strategy, accelerating the construction of innovative provinces, deepening international cooperation in industry, university and research, actively introducing and transforming overseas scientific and technological achievements. Jiangsu will conscientiously implement general secretary Xi Jinping’s important exposition on scientific and technological innovation, adhere to the road of open innovation and collaborative innovation, actively “bring in” to promote independent innovation, accelerate “going out” to graft global resources, and strive to create an innovation community with the same development concept, elements, and innovative chain.

Mr. Cai Jianing expressed Jiangsu is one of the provinces with the most abundant scientific and technological resources and the most active innovation activities in China. It is also one of the most open and dynamic provinces in China. It has good conditions and foundation for international technology transfer, application and promotion. He hopes the conference can play good role in helping gather innovative resources at home and abroad and vigorously promote international technology transfer for Jiangsu and the Yangtze River Delta region.

In the plenary session, Mr. Pavel Komarek, vice chairman of Technology Agency of the Czech Republic, Prof. John Capone, vice president of University of Western Ontario, Canada, and Prof. Mikhail Kuznetsov, deputy vice-chancellor of Bauman Moscow State Technical University, Russia delivered keynote speeches on innovation-oriented international cooperation.

Focusing on the theme “Open Innovation and Win-Win Cooperation”, the conference provided an excellent opportunity to make advanced technology matchmakings, and share innovation cooperation experience and suggestion. The program included plenary session, technology briefings for key partner countries and priority fields, symposium on belt and road collaborative innovation and technology transfer, B2B meetings, international technology transfer summit of universities and site visits in Jiangsu.

To promote Jiangsu’s deep participation in the “One Belt, One Road” scientific and technological innovation cooperation, symposium on belt and road collaborative innovation and technology transfer was held. Representatives from the Commonwealth of Independent States, Central and Eastern Europe, Southeast Asia, South Asia, West Asia, Africa, Oceania and other regions conducted in-depth exchanges and cooperation case sharing about international technology transfer and co-constructing innovative cooperation platform with representatives from Jiangsu. The online platform of Belt and Road Alliance for Collaborative Innovation and Technology Transfer was open in the symposium.

Within 3 months prior to the Conference, Jiangsu and international participants were actively involved in on-line interactions. More than 660 people registered in the i-PIC system and made 300 appointments onsite.

On Nov. 9-10, some international delegates were organized to visit the high-tech companies, industrial parts and start-up platforms in Nanjing, Wuxi, Changzhou, Suzhou, and Jiangyin.

The Conference invited over 200 delegates from 31 countries and regions, including experts from world-leading universities, R&D institutes and representatives from well-known international technology transfer agencies and multinational corporations. Meanwhile, nearly 600 representatives of more than 300 high–tech and innovative enterprises in Jiangsu were also invited.

Since 2008, Jiangsu has successfully organized six sessions of China Jiangsu Conference for International Technology Transfer and Commercialization (CITTC). The conferences brought together more than 1600 international delegates with professional expertise and over 3800 Jiangsu delegates, facilitated a number of cooperative projects, creating a widespread impact both at home and abroad.
