Co-organized by Jiangsu Science and Technology Department and British Consulate General in Shanghai and undertaken by Jiangsu Center of International Technology Transfer, the Jiangsu - the United Kingdom Cell and Gene Therapy Technology Seminar was successfully held in Nanjing On March 14. More than 30 representatives from 17 relevant enterprises and research institutions from Nanjing, Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou participated in the seminar.

Gareth Taylor, the science and technology counsellor of British Consulate General in Shanghai introduced the development on cell and gene therapy in the United Kingdom. Zhao Yangwei, the Advisor of International Cooperation Division of the Science and Technology Department of Jiangsu Province introduced the China – the United Kingdom Industrial Challenge Cooperation Project jointly launched by Jiangsu Provincial Department of Science and Technology and Innovate UK. The British representatives from the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult shared their experience on latest research progress, clinical application and relevant policies of cell and gene therapy technology. A series of famous institutions and enterprises in the industry such as Nanjing Gulou Hospital, Jiangsu SanPower Group and Nanjing Geneseeq Gene and Biotechnology Co., Ltd. have conducted in-depth exchanges with British representatives.

The delegates from the Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult said that through this seminar, they learned more about the research and clinical application on cell and gene therapy of Jiangsu and looked forward to the exchange of relevant institutions and enterprises of Jiangsu to Britain to promote cooperation between Jiangsu and the United Kingdom on research and project cooperation of cell and gene therapy.
