For further promotion of technology exchange and cooperation between Jiangsu and France on the area of air quality and full complementarity of China and France’s innovation resources, the 2017 Jiangsu-France Air Quality Seminar was successfully held in Nanjing on March 9. It was promoted by Jiangsu Science and Technology Department and the French Consulate General in Shanghai and co-sponsored by Jiangsu Center of International Technology Transfer, Nanjing Municipal Science and Technology Commission and France Air Quality Expert Working Group (F. Air).

Gaétan Messin, the Science and Technology Counsellor of the French Consulate in Shanghai, Li Xuqin, the consultant of the International Cooperation Division of Jiangsu Science and Technology Department and Xu Wenjin, the Deputy Head of Yuhua District attended the Seminar and delivered speeches. About 20 representitives from 15 Jiangsu Enterprises from Nanjing, Suzhou, Yixing, Yancheng participated the Seminar. Delegate of French experts in the area of air quality from organizations such as France State Science Research Centre (CNRS), France National Institute for Industrial Environment and Risk (INERIS) and France ARIA Company released techonologies on air quality management, monitoring applications and services of low-cost sensors, supervision of pollution in multi-scale cities and factories, which drew great attention of the presented representitives from Jiangsu’s enterprises and institutes. During the round-table discussion, delegates of Jiangsu enterprises made positive speeches and expressed their strong will to cooperate with French experts and agencies.

Jiangsu Tianyixinde Environmental Protection Science and Technology Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Yinyuan Science and Technology Co., Ltd., as the representitives of Chinese enterprises signed project cooperation agreements with France ARIA Company respectively. France Air Quality Expert Working Group signed an agreement on joint establishment the Nanjing Representative Office of France Air Quality Expert Working Group (F. Air) with Nanjing Qiyun Environmental Science and Technology Co., Ltd..

The Expert Working Group demonstrated that next step they will enhance the cooperation with the Jiangsu Center of International Technology Transfer, constructing the China-France Center of Ecological City Technology Transfer to fully connect the innovation resources of both countries, so as to enhance long-term scientific and technological exchanges and cooperation in the field of air quality and ecocity.

After the Seminar, Messin, along with the expert delegates of the France Air Quality Expert Working Group visited the Software Valley. The experts said that they felt the big potential and broad market in the area of air quality in Jiangsu through this trip, and the communication with the potential business partners in the industry laid the foundation for the China-France substantive cooperation in the area of air quality.
