From March 22 to 23, 2018, with the support of Jiangsu Science and Technology Department and British Consulate General in Shanghai, Offshore Wind UK- China Mission: Jiangsu was jointly organized by Jiangsu Center of International Technology Transfer, Nanjing Science and Technology Commission, and Yancheng Science and Technology Bureau.

More than 90 delegates including representatives from 14 UK offshore wind companies, Mr. Gareth Taylor, Counselor of Science and Technology Innovation of the British Consulate-General in Shanghai, Jiangsu companies and research institutes and Jiangsu Science and Technology Department, Nanjing Science and Technology Commission, Jiangsu Center of International Technology Transfer attended the event in Nanjing. On March 23rd, British company representatives visited several offshore wind power companies in Dafeng District and Dongtai City, Yancheng City.

At the beginning of the event, Mr. Zhao Yangwei, Director of the International Cooperation Division from Jiangsu Science and Technology Department and Mr. Gareth Taylor, Counselor of Science and Technology Innovation of the British Consulate-General in Shanghai briefed the delegates on the advantages of technological innovation resources in Jiangsu and Jiangsu-UK Industrial Challenge Programme. In one-one meetings, a total of 45 pairs of technology projects negotiations were arranged, of which 15 pairs of projects reached initial cooperation

On March 23, with the support from Yancheng Science and Technology Bureau, the UK delegation visited Dafeng District and Dongtai in Yancheng City and four companies including Goldwind Technology, Jiangsu Zhongche Motor Co., Ltd., Shanghai Electric and Shanghai FRP Research Institute Dongtai Company. The two sides exchanged ideas on topics such as the research and development of high-powered wind turbines, the operation mode of offshore wind farms, and production testing of wind turbines.
