Hosted by Jiangsu Science and Technology Department and Consulate General of South Korea in Shanghai and jointly organized by Jiangsu Center of International Technology Transfer, Yancheng Science & Technology Bureau, Yancheng Economic and Technological Development Zone, South Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) and South Korea Rehoboth Business Incubator CO., Ltd., “2017 China (Jiangsu)-Korea Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cooperation Conference” was successfully held in the past few days in Yancheng.

The event is the seventh industrial technology complementarity and communication jointly hosted by Jiangsu Science and Technology Department and KOTRA since 2013 and the first conference on technology complementarity with the theme of innovation & entrepreneurship and business incubation by Jiangsu and South Korea to meet requirements of new situations. According to the connectivity demand at early stage, over 20 innovative and start-up enterprises from South Korea were organized by KOTRA to visit Yancheng of Jiangsu for cooperation. Around 130 delegates from over 100 enterprises and incubators from Yancheng, Nanjing, Zhangjiagang, Taizhou and Danyang were presented in the event.

The event was consisted of three parts: innovation & entrepreneurship cooperation forum, project roadshow and one-to-one negotiation. Delegates from Jiangsu Science and Technology Department and Consulate General of South Korea in Shanghai delivered speeches respectively at China (Jiangsu)–South Korea Innovation & Entrepreneurship Cooperation Forum held on August 29, with strong expectation in advancing technology exchange & cooperation between Jiangsu and South Korea to a higher level development of deeper level and realizing both Chinese Dream and South Korean Dream through making great efforts in enhancing cooperation on innovation & entrepreneurship and technology incubation between both sides at the 25^th anniversary of the establishment of ties between China – South Korea; Jiangsu Science and Technology Business Incubator Association, South Korea Institute for SMEs Advancement, Industrial Park of Yancheng Economic Development Zone funded by South Korea and the Administrative Committee of South-Korea Industrial Park in Zhangjiagang respectively made promotion and introduction to environment and policies for innovation and start-up business in Jiangsu and South Korea; Business incubation delegates and Entrepreneur delegates from both sides shared their entrepreneurial stories and experience about cooperation between China and South Korea. During the project roadshow on August 30, some 20 enterprises from South Korea respectively made introduction to the technologies, products and R&D in the process of releasing technological information. The enterprises participated in this event were from the fields of new energy, modern agriculture, new material, food safety and healthy life with powerful R&D capabilities and rich experience in industrialization. The enterprises participated in one-to-one negotiation with active and pragmatic attitude towards communication, and favorable results were achieved.

Yancheng, serving as the new visiting card for Jiangsu’s open economy, has become the city with close industrial cooperation between China and South Korea with South Korea-funded enterprises gathering. China-ROK Free Trade Agreement has clearly identified Yancheng as the city for China-ROK industrial park cooperation. Yancheng serves as an important platform for Jiangsu to deepen and advance cooperation with South Korea. The success of this event will expand content of cooperation in field of scientific and technological innovation and promote the pragmatic exchange and cooperation on industrial technology innovation between both sides.
