A Further Step to Enhance Technology Cooperation
with Russia and Poland

From June 9 to 18, JITTC organized a delegation to Russia and Poland for science and technology exchange. The delegation is composed of 14 people from 10 Jiangsu companies engaged in new materials, environmental protection, biomedicine and equipment manufacturing.

The government of the Tomsk Region of Russia attached great importance to the visit. Vice Governor Mr. A. C. Knyazev had a meeting with the delegation and introduced the technology advantages, science strength and industrial policies of the Region.

On the basis of preparatory interactions, the Jiangsu companies had B2B meetings with over 20 organizations from the Russian side, such as Tomsk State University, Tomsk Polytechnic University, Siberian Research Institute of Agriculture and Peat. The delegation also paid visits to the biomedicine, ICT and ceramic material companies in Tomsk.

As the other part of the trip, the delegation visited Jagiellonian University in Poland. This is the first Chinese delegation of entrepreneurs that had ever stepped into the university. The hosts warmly welcomed the delegation and organized technology briefings on new materials, biomedicine, machine manufacturing with joint effort of AGH University of Science and Technology, and Cracow University of Technology. They also arranged site visits to the Bio-Technology Park and the Malopolska Centre of Biotechnology.

For most Jiangsu companies, the visit to Russia and Poland is highly rewarding, as they had chances for in-depth discussion on cooperative projects with their prospective partners. As an outstanding example, Jiangsu Redsun Group signed a contract with S.V. Lebedev Institute of Synthetic Rubber in St. Petersburg on the recycling use of waste rubber, which has boosted the confidence for both Jiangsu and Russian companies to strengthen their collaboration.
